I wrote last month about the need for textarea spell checking in Mozilla.

Well, it looks like the wait is over.

A working solution has been posted in the Mozillazine forums by Torisugari. I've loaded it onto my Firebird 0.7 build and it's been working great so far. I encourage anyone wanting this functionality in Mozilla or Firebird to give this a try.

I've posted a note on how to get the spell check extension working in Firefox 0.9.
